The second part of this paper takes a look at the environmental laws and practices of Austria and highlights their education, energy use, and community commitment to the environment and why they should be emulated by the wider global community.

Kathleen Jaco is a graduate of the University Honors College of Middle Tennessee State University, majoring in Global Studies with a concentration in Globalization and Culture and minoring in Environment & Human Society. She has been accepted to Portland State University's Leadership in Ecology, Culture, and Learning program and plans to attend in the Fall of 2010. Her work focuses on Sustainability Education with a global perspective and she plans to teach Garden Based Education in K-12 schools.
